With unrest and riots in America's cities, where can one turn to find peace? The Bible tells us, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." (John 16:3) Therefore, we have hope that no matter what happens in this world, God is in control. While the world may feel chaotic, God is here. You can find stability if you will trust and give yourself over to the one and only God.
Youth can be a wonderful time of life, but not for everyone. Too often people choose to go their own way. Have you lost your way? Are you interested in finding true peace? Keep reading and watching the stories. Every story is different, yet their commonality is discovering Jesus.
Religion is a funny thing. Many people think that if you have religion, then God is on your side. But not all religion is good. Just as there are false ideas, so also are there false religions. The Bible says even the demons believe. So what does it really mean to be a Christian? Some people say, "I believe in God". But they have wrong ideas about God. We must believe in the God who IS, not the God of our imagination. Watch the stories on this site to learn about the God of the Bible, the God who is!

People often look to medications to help deal with personal problems. In contrast, those who surrender to Christ discover a source of peace they did not have before. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

Salvation is the source of peace that passes all understanding. Missionary Dr. Joseph Cooke wrote a book entited, Free for the Taking. Salvation is a gift; that is what grace means. Our sins have been paid in full by Jesus and His death on the cross. This gift of salvation is only available to those who will take it. Will you take it today--right now?

The following Old Testament passage refers to Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God: “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6b) Throughout the centuries the Prince of Peace (Jesus, who is God) has provided peace for His people.

Elements of The Good News. First, we must each realize that God is holy and we are sinful. The Bible says "All have sinned..." (Romans 3:23) This is a tremendous problem because it means we are separated from God, whether we feel it or not. Second, we must understand that being good does not help us get closer to God. This is because the cause of our separation is sin, not how good or bad we are. Third, God has provided a way for us to be united with Him, to have a relationship with Him. God sent His Son, Jesus, to die. He paid for our sins! Forth, we must accept Him and His payment.

The Bible tells of a famous king named David. He wrote much of the poetry found in the book of Psalms. For example, he wrote, "You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.” (Psalm 4:7-8) Likewise, we too can have that kind of peace and safety. It starts with a relationship with the God who made us.
A Penalty You Can't Afford to Pay
Imagine facing court in a foreign country. You're charged with a heinous crime. The penalty is more than you could pay or borrow. You would go to jail, but instead a stranger pays the debt. That is what Jesus did. He paid the debt which we could not pay.
Accepting God's Payment for Our Sins
Call out to Jesus and in your own words admit your sins to Him. Tell Him you are sorry and thank Him for paying for your debt. Tell Him you want to be His child.
After Jesus died and was resurrected, He appeared to various people. Luke 24:13 begins the story of Jesus talking to two men walking to the village of Emmaus. Jesus asked them, "Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things . . .?" What do you think?

If you do a web search for the word peace, you will find many answers: an absense of conflict, to stop thinking about things that disturb you. But Jesus provides a different sort of peace. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you..."  (John 14:27a)

It has been 2000 years since Jesus walked on Earth. Yet people from around the world STILL claim Him. Many willingly die or face persecution because of their faith in Jesus. Why is that? It is partly because the peace that Jesus gives transforms like no other.

In Matthew 11:19 Jesus says He is called "a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners". While He is sort of mocking His accusers, it is a true statement. In Mark 2:17 Jesus says: "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." What about you? Are you righteous or are you a sinner?
There are many obstacles to someone having faith in Christ. Sometimes it is the questions people have, while others are troubled by a bad experience. Some self protect and don't want to risk. Others are convinced by the narrative of teachers and peers that evolution eliminates the need for God. Many people simply have a lack of knowledge of the Bible and God.

In John 8:31, 21 Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."   Growing in knowledge of God and the Bible is a healthy step toward having a relationship with Christ.

The Bible is filled with insights into who God is and who we are. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  (Romans 6:23)

This verse tells us the bad news that our sin's penalty is death. In the Old Testament, animals were sacrificed in the place of people's sins. In the New Testament, Jesus was the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Romans 6:23 also tells us the good news that God offers the free gift of eternal life! Are you ready to receive Jesus, who paid the the penalty for sin?

The following Old Testament passage refers to Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6b) Since His coming to Earth, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, has provided peace for those who follow Him.

Christianity is not like other systems of faith. For what other religion relies upon their God dying for them? None. Jesus, the Son of God, who is God, was sinless, died on a Roman cross as the substitution for our sins. We being sinful are therefore separated from God. We need a way to be united with God but we have no means to do so by ourselves. The Bible tells us that our good works are useless for paying for our own sins. "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;" Isaiah 64:6a God's plan offers His Son as the perfect sacrifice so that we could accept Jesus as our substitution, which allows us to be united with Him; our Maker, Redeemer and Friend!
A Simple Prayer for Salvation
In a booklet the famous evangelist Billy Graham wrote a sample prayer for how anyone who chooses can enter into a relationship with Christ. He wrote:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus name. Amen.
Are you prepared for what will happen to you after you die? Suppose you died today and you went to meet God. Then He asked you, "Why should I allow you into my Heaven?" How would you answer Him? If your answer is something like, "I was pretty good and not too bad compared to some." In that case you would not be heading in the right direction.

As you watch the stories of those who have turned their lives over to Jesus, there is one common characteristic. That characteristic is that they find have found peace. You can't manufacture the peace that God gives.

Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1

For you to have that peace you must embrace the Prince of peace. You must accept Jesus as YOUR Savior.

Confess your sins to God. He will not only listen, He will forgive you. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  I John 1:9

Central to Christianity is Jesus death on the cross as payment for our sins. He died so we could live!
Someone maybe asking, how do I accept Jesus?

First you must accept something about yourself that is not taught in public school, in newspapers or even in psychology textbooks.

"for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"   Romans 3:23

We are all sinners, not just makers of mistakes. That means you have broken God's laws. You have affended God with your words, attitudes and actions. Likely, sometime in your past you have cursed God or used "Jesus" as a curse word. This is breaking the third commandment. You are a sinner and because of that fact you are separated from God.

So many people think that they can do it on their on. They will just work hard, do good and God will forgive them. Wrong!!! There are no good works that you can do to help you look good in God's eyes! "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness..."  Titus 3:5

The only way into God's kingdom is God's way. Confess your sins to Him. Tell God you are sorry and ask Him to allow Jesus' death to be a substitute for your sin and selfishness. The way of reconciliation with God is not by way of your good deeds. Rather, it is by accepting Jesus payment for your sins. The God of the universe died for you, so you could be set free from all your junk. Cry out to Him!
